Fund Raising Website
Hi,
Need to develop a website for collection of funds online.
I have mentioned an overview of functionalities required.
Request you go through the requirements and then quote.
I would suggest to go through the functionality of kiva(dot)org to which is similar to what I want.
Please post what technology/database etc that you plan to use and why in your post otherwise I may not be able to consider it.
Functionality:
1) There would be multiple organizations that will be receiving the funds (unlike Kiva where its mainly individuals).
2) Each organization may (and usually will) have more than one project listed for which they can seek funding. An organization can be created by Admin (No sign up).
3) These projects can be posted by the organization (through their login) or have the Admin post it on their behalf.
4) Users (can sign up) and can select a project and contribute amount or can directly contribute to an organization (not to a specific project).
5) Users can also post a project for raising funds for an organization. This will be sent for the approval of the organization they have raised the project for. Once approved by the organization/admin, it is made visible to other users and is ready to be funded.
6) Fund collection is similar to Kiva (amount collected/Yet to be collected, (Other expenses that Admin can add to the actual amount to be raised such as operational expenses) and is to be integrated to Paypal.
7) Users can forms groups (private/public) and would have moderator and a forum for the group. (Can chat be made available here? Will individual messaging – private messaging – make it complex? you can consider this groups similar to what Orkut has)– similar to communities in kiva. 
Statistics of funds for the user group/Organization need to be present (similar to kiva)
9) Admin should be able to provide an update on projects – by posting comments/ adding pics etc
10) User should be able to rate the project based on various parameters and rating of all the projects of an organization contribute the organizations rating.
11) Both organizations and users once they login should reach their page – similar to My Portfolio in Kiva.
12) Option for data backup.
Website:
1. Main page would have basic search/ sign up/ company logo and specific no of recently modified posts (new projects/projects whose status changed closed/Updates).
2. Main page would have space allocated to a common forum where all the users and organizations can post.
3. Users should be able to search organizations/projects/users based on parameters similar to Kiva (status/sector/popularity – region would have Country/State).
4. Selection of projects should give details of the project.
5. Selection of organization should give the details of the organization/statistics of funds collected/projects closed and the recently modified post of that organization/ groups associated with that organization.
