Project Description – Meter reading application with GUI
Scope:
To design and build application which allow you to monitor your home electricity usage in real time or per demand.
Project description:
This project contains an application written to capture this data per electrical meter and display it in the form of graphs and descriptions and provides you with information on how much energy you consumed.
The following features should be included:
- Real time reading
- Historical Data – Historical data consumption per Meter (Must have chart)
- View live data mode. (Must have chart)
- Compare usage with other meters available in the data base. (Must have chart)
- Store for each meter XML file as his database.
- Calculate monthly bill.
- Generate report with the consumption reading.
- Able to set time interval for the reading.
- Able to configure per year, month, day.
GUI Requirements:
The graphical user interface must be special, elegant and user friendly.
Application Meters Communication:
We will provide Perl script as an example to perform meter reading. This script should be part of the application but flexible enough to change parameters per meter type or per different meter configuration either by adding flags or by file configuration. The communication channel is TCP over IP.
Application delivery:
The application should come with install shield or different and easy install process.
We might add more features along the way which are essential.
Programmer requirements:
- The programmer must have deep knowledge in communication protocols.
- The programmer must capable to design professional GUI
